Dallas County COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 21% of residents are fully vaccinated

Dallas County residents had received more than 52,043 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, according to data from the Iowa Department of Public Health.

That's up 15% from the previous week's tally of 45,337 COVID-19 doses received.

In Dallas County, 23% of residents are fully vaccinated as of April 14. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

As of Wednesday, Iowa reported 358,139 total cases of coronavirus, and the state was averaging 497 new reported cases per day over the past week.

The five counties in Iowa with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated as of April 14 are Audubon (32%), Buena Vista (32%), Cass County (32%), Calhoun County (31%) and Grundy (30%) counties.
